As far as i can remember, mum always had something baking in her oven.
We'd reach home from school welcomed by the delightful aroma of something baking, roasting or simply toasting in the oven.
Nope. I don't live in the countryside (where in storybooks everyone bakes) nor does mom own a bakery but amidst the busy life of a typical Singaporean girl, i am blessed to enjoy eating something fresh from the oven, ALMOST on a daily basis.
Hence the love for baking, cooking and such. I see how mum enjoy hosting weekend get-togethers (no occasion required) and she would always be the first to volunteer preparing something for a potluck lunch, and mind you, she did not and still does not stop at one dish.
Now married with 3 beautiful children and a loving husband who his a foodie himself, i am left to explore the wonders of the hot oven.... how my children would wait anxiously at its door watching as the cake rises, or how hubby anticipates as his favourite chocolate chip cookies are crisping up.
Please don't get me wrong, i use the stove a lot too as most part of our meals are prepared upon it. But the oven, yes, i won't know how it turns out to be until it's actually done.....the perfect waiting game.
June's Oven was set up for me to share my oven experiences. Its magic. Its glory. And epic failures.
An avenue of sharing, from me to you....... <3
Let's Go!!
